Lombardi Publishings Profit Confidential Reports: Some Blue Chips Continue to Weather Economic Storm in Spite of Global Pressures

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 01, 2012

Profit Confidential, an e-letter of Lombardi Publishing Corporation, a 26-year-old consumer publisher that has served over one million customers in 141 countries, reports that, in spite of there being a large number of stocks pulling back from recent highs, there are a number of blue chip stocks bucking the trend.

In a recent article, Senior Editor Mitchell Clark, notes, I think its likely that well now see the stock market drift over the near term. Share prices have come down and so have expectations. With most stocks fairly priced, there is some value in the marketplace but not a lot of it. Its very difficult to imagine the overall stock market accelerating in the current environment.

That said, a number of powerhouse blue chips continue to have momentum, according to Clark. One example he cites is Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., which is trading just three points below its all-time record high. Over the last four weeks, the Street increased Wal-Marts earnings expectations across the board, including next years.

Clark points out that Exxon Mobil Corporation, Verizon Communications Inc., The Travelers Companies, Inc., and The Home Depot, Inc. have also been holding up well on a relative basis.

According to the Profit Confidential editor, one of the stock markets best performing stocks has been Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. While the company just reported excellent financial results, its share price recently pulled back in the broader market. Alexion is worth keeping an eye on, Clark adds.

Overall, the problems facing the stock market arent driven by corporations, says Clark, but rather are due to outside economic forces hitting Main Street. Sovereign debt among the 17 countries using the euro currency just hit a record 90% of the value of their total economy, states the editor. The headwinds remain large and so does investment risk.

Clark concludes, Ive been an advocate of sticking with existing winners in this stock market. Many blue chip companies have been excellent wealth creators over the last couple of years, and thats not even including dividends. Many blue chips have excellent balance sheets and, like weve heard this earnings season, companies are prepared to weather new storms.
